Warning: This article contains spoilers for Scream 6.scream 6 Star Liana Liberato revealed that the original script revealed that Ghostface had killed her mother. The movie, which premieres March 10, follows a new Ghostface killer that follows the survivors of the Scream 2022 to their new home in New York City. At the end of the film, it is revealed that for the first time Ghostface was actually a trio of killers – Detective Billy (Dermot Mulroney) and his children Ethan (Jack Champion) and Quinn (Liana Liberato) – who were seeking revenge for the murder of a previous Ghostface killer, their third brother Richie Kirsch. (Jack Quaid).
collider Recently had the opportunity to sit down with Liberato for a spoiler-filled interview after two weeks of scream 6 release date. As she breaks down Ghostface’s important reveal, she answers a lingering question about the matriarchy of Ghostface’s family. Although Quinn and Ethan’s mother is not mentioned in the final cut of the film, the scene originally featured a line explaining that Ethan and Billy killed her.Because she did not agree with things. There was talk of my mom not making it to the movie. I think there were a few lines of us — well not me, but Ethan is kind of helping [Detective] Billy with our mother’s death because she didn’t approve of things. [Laughs] It has been cut! That was a thing. That line always made me laugh while we were filming because I was like, “This is crazy. I can’t believe we killed our mom.”
Could Richie’s mother play a role in Scream 7?
Since the screenwriters chose to leave the fate of Richie’s mother on the cutting room floor, it’s possible she could return in the future Scream film. There is precedent for family revenge killings in the franchise, starting with scream 2which featured Laurie Metcalfe as the vengeful mother of original killer Billy Loomis. scream 3 And scream 4 They also both featured killers linked to final girl Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), meaning two-thirds of the films feature a family angle to Ghostface.
The appearance of Richie’s mother could also relate to the possible inclusion of the mother of survivors Sam (Melissa Barrera) and Tara Carpenter (Jenna Ortega). Their mother is not shown on screen though she is mentioned in Scream 2022 f scream 6. It remains to be seen if the characters will be allies or enemies if they appear together.
despite of scream 7 not officially confirmed, scream 6The box office run has more or less ensured that the franchise will get a continuation sooner rather than later. Given how much scream 6 Share with 1997 scream 2 In terms of tone and plot, it’s likely that the upcoming film will see proper resonance scream 3. However, if this is the case, it is unlikely that Ritchie’s mother was involved in the new killings, unless it is revealed that she was the mastermind behind the previous two Ghostfaces, as many scream 3Roman Bridger (Scott Foley).
